These terms govern your use of noctiscodex.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

2. This site does not sell anything

noctiscodex.com is a reading and reference site. There is no shop, no basket and no checkout. Every Noctis Codex book is sold by Amazon, and when you follow a buying link from this site you leave us and enter Amazon's store, where Amazon's terms, pricing, delivery and refund policies apply. We have no access to your order, your account or your payment, and we cannot cancel, alter or refund a purchase made there.

3. The free chapters

We publish the opening chapters of each book as free downloads. You may read them, keep them and share the link with anyone. You may not republish the files, host them elsewhere, sell them, or present them as your own work.

4. Mature content

Our books are dark fantasy and horror written for adult readers. They contain violence, disturbing imagery and mature themes. The free samples carry the same content as the books they come from. This site is not intended for children.

5. Our rights in the work

Everything on this site is owned by or licensed to us: the writing, the world names, the titles, the cover art, the banners, the films and the Noctis Codex sigil. Nothing here transfers any of it to you.

You may quote briefly from our work for review, commentary or criticism, with attribution. You may not reproduce whole chapters or books, and you may not upload our work to any file-sharing service, website, or machine-learning training dataset.

6. The newsletter

Joining is voluntary and leaving is one click. We send release notices, cover reveals and free chapters, and nothing else. How your address is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

7. Fair use of the site

Please do not attempt to interfere with the site, gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or scrape it at a scale that affects other readers.

8. Links to other places

We link to Amazon and occasionally to other sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices.

9. Fiction is fiction

Our books are works of imagination. Names, characters, organisations, places and events are either invented or used fictitiously, and any resemblance to real people, living or dead, or to real organisations, is coincidental.

10. The site is provided as it is

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error free, and content may change without notice.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, and because this site sells nothing and charges nothing, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it, including business losses or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version published here is the one in force. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law where you live provides otherwise.
